So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this massive entertainment company produces tons of Disney-themed merchandise, including board games. There are an insane number of Disney board games, with options for young children, families, and adults!

In this article, we will go over 11 of the absolute best Disney board games. Let’s get straight to it!

1. CODENAMES DISNEY

Codenames Disney is one of our favorite Disney board games that combines the classic elements of Codenames with the Walt Disney universe. Each team will battle to uncover their team’s Disney characters or elements. If you love Codenames, you’ll love this Disney version of the competitive team game.

HOW TO PLAY

Codenames Disney is played between two teams. Divide all the players evenly and choose a Spymaster for each team. Each team has to uncover their designated cards on the 4×4 grid. The Spymasters are the only players who know which cards belong to their team, which are the opposing team’s, and which are neutral. Spymasters take turns giving their team 1 word clues to try and get them to guess which Disney character to flip. The Spymaster will give their team a number, clarifying how many of the Disney characters apply to this clue. Here is an example of a clue:

The Spymaster wants their team to guess “Scar” and “Syndrome”.

Their clue could be “Evil: 2” 

The rest of the team now tries to find 2 cards that correlate to “Evil”.

2. DISNEY VILLAINOUS

Disney Villainous invites players to step into the roles of Disney villains, each with their unique objectives and strategies. Players can choose to be villains such as Maleficent, Captain Hook, Ursula, and more. Each player must work towards achieving their character-specific goals while thwarting their opponents. This is one of the most strategic Disney board games on this list, with lots of depth and complexity.

HOW TO PLAY

Disney Villain revolves around the concept of “Fate” and “Vanquishing Heroes.” Players must complete their villain’s objective, which typically involves vanquishing a specific hero or accomplishing a particular goal while thwarting their opponents (other villains) in the process.

On your turn, you can perform one of three actions: play a card from your hand, move your villain to a different location on your player board, or activate your villain’s unique ability. You can also play Fate cards on opponents. These cards allow you to send heroes to your opponents’ locations or make their objectives more challenging.

3. DISNEY APPLES TO APPLES

If you are in the market for a simple, family-friendly Disney board game, Disney Apples to Apples is an excellent choice. 

Apples to Apples is one of the most popular family party games out there. The Disney edition is very similar to the standard version, but the cards are Disney-themed with photos from movies. The goal of the game is to make clever, humorous, or creative combinations that best align with the judge’s preferences, creating a fun and engaging experience for Disney fans and party game enthusiasts.

HOW TO PLAY

This game is extremely simple and easy for the entire family to get involved in. At the beginning of each game, players draw 7 red “Apple” cards. One player is then selected as a judge and flips a green “Apple” card. Players use red “Apple” cards featuring nouns or phrases from the Disney universe to match with green “Apple” cards containing adjectives or descriptions. The judge then collects all the red “Apple” cards and chooses the one they like the best. When players decide to finish playing, the person who has won the most green “Apple” cards is the winner!

4. CARDS AGAINST WALT

Cards Against Humanity is probably the most popular adult card game out there. But have you ever played the Disney version of the game? Cards Against Walt is essentially the same thing as Cards Against Humanity, except all the cards are Disney-themed.  

A bit of a warning: this is NOT a kid’s game and contains lots of explicit content, so it should only be played by adults.

HOW TO PLAY

In Cards Against Walt, players take turns being the “Card Czar,” who draws a red question card and reads it aloud. The other players then use their white answer cards, featuring hilariously twisted and Disney-themed responses, to complete the question. The Card Czar then judges which answer is the funniest, most outrageous, or simply the most fitting, awarding that player the round and the card.

The game thrives on the absurd and unexpected pairings of beloved Disney characters and themes, so be prepared for a night of laughter and, perhaps, a few shocking revelations about your friends’ sense of humor. HOW TO PLAY

This game is played with 2 to 6 players, with each player selecting a Disney character as their avatar. 

Players take turns to move their figurines across the board spaces. The spinner determines the number of spaces you can move. You will also draw adventure cards, revealing opportunities and challenges that affect your journey. These cards can lead to battles, item acquisition, or other events.

Players can form alliances or engage in battles as they navigate the ever-shifting game board to unlock the Door to Darkness, achieve victory, and earn the title of Keyblade Master. 

6. DISNEY TRIVIA

Are you looking for a family-fun trivia game? Disney Trivia will test your knowledge with over 2,000 questions covering the entire Disney universe. From Mickey Mouse to the most recent Pixar releases, this trivia game covers a wide range of Disney’s extensive catalog. Adults and children alike will love this entertaining Disney board game.

HOW TO PLAY

To get started, set up the game board, which contains 3-dimensional parts from the Disney universe, a spinner, eight game pieces, and hundreds of trivia cards. Each player then chooses one of the eight game pieces and starts on the path to victory.

The goal of the game is to visit points of interest on the board, answer trivia questions correctly, and collect a color swirl game chip. At each turn, spin the spinner and move forward the specified number of spaces. Every space on the game board is a specific color; the color of the space you land on dictates which question you will have to answer on the trivia card. If you do not already have a color swirl for that color and you answer the question correctly, you collect a color swirl. If you answer correctly, but you already have that color swirl, you do not collect another one.

The first player to collect all five color swirls and reach the end of the game board wins!

7. MONOPOLY PIXAR

Pixar, a Disney subsidiary, produces some of the best animated movies out there. Monopoly Pixar is a delightful Disney twist on the classic Monopoly board game, transporting players into the imaginative worlds of beloved Pixar films. HOW TO PLAY

Pixar Monopoly is played very similarly to standard Monopoly, with a few twists. 

The goal is to buy Pixar-themed properties and develop them into “Cone Motels” and “Al’s Toy Barns”. At the start of the game, each player selects their favorite Pixar game piece and places it on “GO.” 

Players take turns rolling the dice, moving around the board, and purchasing Pixar-themed when they land on them. As in traditional Monopoly, you collect rent from other players when they land on your properties, and you aim to bankrupt your opponents by amassing valuable properties and cleverly managing your finances. If you are tired of the standard Monopoly game and love Pixar, you’ll definitely enjoy this board game!

8. CLUE: DISNEY VILLAINS

In Clue: Disney Villains, players step into the shoes of the notorious bad guys from Disney films. In this board game, you aim to solve a mystery by deducing which villain committed the nefarious act, which weapon was used, and where the dark deed occurred. With beloved Disney villains like Maleficent and Ursula as suspects, players use the process of elimination to solve the crime!

HOW TO PLAY

This game is played almost exactly like Clue, but instead of the classic characters and rooms, everything is Disney-themed. The suspects are Jafar, Ursula, Gaston, Lady Tremaine, Dr. Facilier, and Mother Gothel. Players take turns rolling the dice, traveling to different locations, and accusing characters of committing the crime.

9. DISNEY COLOR BRAIN

The challenge is to identify the character’s main color or colors and select the corresponding color cards from the deck.

If you have young children under the age of 5, Eye Found It: Disney is a perfect choice for a board game. Players work as a team to find hidden objects and advance across the game board. This is an amazing developmental game for younger kids that will keep the entire family entertained and occupied.

HOW TO PLAY

This is the best Disney board game to play if you are looking for something simple. This game is cooperative, so players will work as a team to find all objects hidden on the board. Players take turns spinning the spinner and moving their game pieces across the board according to the number rolled. As players advance, they will encounter various challenges, such as searching for hidden Disney-themed objects, which they must locate on the board within a set time limit indicated by the clock. The goal is for all players to collectively reach the end of the board before the clock strikes 12.

11. FAMILY FEUD: DISNEY EDITION

Family Feud is a popular television game show in which players guess the most popular answers to survey questions and accumulate points. Family Feud: Disney Edition is essentially the exact same thing, except all the questions are Disney-themed. This is an entertaining Disney trivia question that is fun and creative!

HOW TO PLAY

To play Family Feud: Disney Edition, you must split all players into 2 equal teams. One player will also need to be designated as the Host. 

The host will draw a Disney-themed survey card and read the question to the first team. The team will then have a set amount of time to discuss and write down as many possible answers to the question. The team then announces their answers one by one to the host. If an answer is correct, the team receives points depending on how popular the answer was in the survey. If an answer is incorrect, the opposing team has an opportunity to steal points. The game continues this way for a set number of rounds, with the host switching between teams to ask the survey questions. At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins!
